International Coffee Day 2025

What better way to kick off October than with International Coffee Day! In celebration, the team are sharing their current favourite coffees to inspire your next brew, plus we’ve thrown a few recommendations in if you’re looking for a new blend or single origin to try.

Kitty - Head of Marketing and Ecommerce

“On the weekends I treat myself to slow mornings, sipping several cups of Blue Note made in a cafetiere. It's easy, smooth nature is the perfect way to start the day, and I love the sweet brown sugar and milk chocolate notes.”

Enjoy Blue Note? Try: Goldstone or Brazil Pocos

Lauren - Creative and Marketing Manager

“I usually prefer chocolate/nutty notes, but I’ve really enjoyed the balanced fruity flavour of Ethiopia Shoondhisa recently. Brewed on V60, the flavours start quite bold but mellow and blend as the drink settles, which makes for a really nice pick-me-up mid-morning!”

Jude - Head Barista, Wellington House

“I’ve been having Ethiopia Shoondhisa on filter at the start of my shift each day. It’s nice and light and slightly floral which is different to other Ethiopian coffees we’ve had, but I'm really enjoying it.”

Enjoy Ethiopia Shoondhisa? Try: Throwdown or Costa Rica Doga

Wendy - Accounts Assistant

“My current-go to is a Decaf oat flat white - I’ve switched from lattes so I can taste the coffee more in my drink, and think the balance between the acidic notes and milk now is spot on!”

Enjoy the flavour of Decaf but want some buzz? Try: Costa Rica Guanacaste or Papua New Guinea

Ash - Roastery Assistant

“My recent fave has been Burundi Izuba! It was full of chocolatey goodness, and I liked to brew it on Aeropress - super easy to use and always delicious.”

Missed out on Burundi Izuba? Try: Throwback or Burundi Izuba

Joe - National Account Manager

“Goldstone flat white is always my favourite, it’s a classic flavour profile that I really enjoy and the chocolate notes always taste good with milk.”

Enjoy Goldstone? Try: The Blends Discovery Kit

Amanda - Finance Manager

“At home, I’ve been brewing Mexico Xanat in a Moka pot. It’s really fruity and sweet, and nice with a splash of oat milk!”

Enjoy Mexico? Try: Kenya Asali or Brazil Fazenda
