Small Batch Coffee isn’t just our name, it’s our whole being. Back in 2006, Small Batch Coffee Roasters started as a passion project between two coffee enthusiast friends who wanted to craft high-quality coffee through careful and considered roasting processes, and share great tasting brews with the local community.
With two cafes and several industry awards now under our belts, we wanted to reintroduce ourselves and tell you why Small Batch Coffee Roasters should be your coffee of choice…
Consistent Quality
From sourcing a wide range of unique coffees to the methodology behind our roasting, we put great time and care into all aspects of coffee making to ensure quality in every cup. When roasting, the team have developed methods that ensure full control over the roast process - from spotting bad beans to closely controlled temperatures, this results in consistent flavours as well as ease of adjustments when extracting flavours without burning or over-roasting the beans. Freshness and Flavour
As mentioned, we roast all coffees to order which means customers are guaranteed to get the freshest flavour. Freshly roasted coffee has a more vibrant and complex flavour profile than coffee that has been sitting on shelves for extended periods, so even if customers leave a bag to rest for a few days, chances are it will still taste better than a 2 week pre-roasted batch of coffee that just tastes bland!
Fresher flavour can come with extended timescales, but we always aim to get orders delivered within 3-5 working days - still a perfect window to get the most from our roast!

We’re proud to be internationally recognised as a leading coffee roaster and also a producer of great-tasting single origins of blends. We’ve won multiple Great Taste awards, including 3 Stars for Papua New Guinea which is one of the highest and most sought-after awards given, and recently won Gold for our Decaf coffee.
