Fruity Iced Matcha Drinks You’ll Love: Apple & Raspberry Recipes from Small Batch
Jun 16, 2025
To celebrate the launch of OMGTea Matcha on our online store and being served at our cafes, our Operations Manager, and skilled barista, Sophie has created her twist on a fruity, sweet classic iced Matcha. Having gone down a storm in our cafes, these two new recipes balance the bold, grassy notes of matcha with crisp apple or sweet raspberry, without overpowering the taste. They're designed to highlight what makes quality matcha special: its depth, complexity, and clean finish.
Whether you’re looking for something light and zesty or sweet and creamy, these drinks deliver matcha-forward flavour with a seasonal twist.
Iced Apple Matcha – Light, Crisp & Refreshing
Think fresh apple juice meets the umami depth of real matcha. This one is perfect for sunny days or when you’re craving a clean, crisp pick-me-up.
Ingredients:
-
1g of OMGTea AA Grade Matcha
-
30ml of hot water (around 70–80°C)
-
Your favourite apple juice (cloudy or clear both work!)
-
Ice
-
Optional: Fresh mint for garnish
-
A matcha whisk or electric frother
-
A fine sieve
Method:
-
Sift the matcha into a small bowl using a sieve to remove any clumps.
-
Add hot water and whisk in a W or M motion until you have a smooth, vibrant green paste.
-
Fill your glass with ice and pour in chilled apple juice.
-
Top with the matcha mixture and watch the layers swirl.
-
Stir with a straw, sip, and enjoy the matcha-meets-apple magic.
-
Optional: Add a sprig of fresh mint for an extra-refreshing touch.
Why we love it: It’s light, zesty, and insanely refreshing — a total summer favourite in our cafés.
Iced Raspberry Matcha – Sweet, Fruity & Gorgeous
This one’s for those who like their matcha on the sweeter, fruitier side. A layer of homemade raspberry purée brings vibrant colour and zingy flavour, balanced perfectly by creamy milk and bold matcha.
To make raspberry purée:
-
Gently heat fresh or frozen raspberries with sugar and a squeeze of lemon.
-
Simmer for a few minutes until the berries begin to break down.
-
Muddle or blend the mix to your desired texture, then let it cool.
For the latte:
-
1g of OMGTea AA Grade Matcha
-
30ml of hot water (70–80°C)
-
20g of raspberry purée
-
Milk of your choice
-
Ice
-
Optional: Fresh raspberries for garnish
Method:
-
Add raspberry purée to the bottom of your glass.
-
Fill with ice, then pour in your milk of choice.
-
Sift matcha, then whisk with 30ml hot water until smooth and frothy.
-
Pour matcha over milk, letting the green layer float above the raspberry pink.
-
Stir with a straw, sip, and enjoy the fruity, earthy harmony.
-
Optional: Garnish with a fresh raspberry on top.
Why we love it: It’s bold, vibrant, and totally indulgent, a showstopper of a matcha drink that’s been a huge hit at Small Batch cafés.
Quality Matcha Makes the Difference
Both recipes shine thanks to OMGTea’s AA Grade Matcha premium, stone-ground, shade-grown matcha with incredible depth of flavour. It’s smooth, bright, and packed with the umami character that cheap matcha can’t match.
And since OMGTea is also based in Brighton, these drinks are a celebration of local quality and creativity exactly what we stand for at Small Batch Coffee.
